Re: Advantage Database Server

... Remote Desktop is not an option, nor is mod_harbour. One of my clients just had his internet upgraded, and he now has download speeds of 35 mbps. That is not practical when using 5 workstations with a complex data entry program that handles perhaps thousands of fields of data every hour. ...

Re: New Password problem

... that. However, but do you really feel that a company can share 5 to 10 computers, constantly interacting with large amounts of data, at maybe 80 mbps internet speed ? Is it viable to have days of downtime ? It has nothing to do with the programming. The best program in the world is still limited ...

datatables DBF server-side processing

... Data tables in action. Data tables is connected to a DBF file. We have connected our server to the internet with an upload speed of around only 28 Mbps. There are thirty thousand records in the DBF file. It takes about 5 seconds to fill the grid. So if we have larger files, we need server-side ...

Re: DBF/CDX or SQL

Hello Mark,

I really will apreciate if you could provide us the changes in the network.

OS_NetRegOK( .t.) does not fix it.

With only one PC using the software, it´s fine. Databases are quite small. All wired with 100 Mbps.

Thank you.

Re: lentitud tremenda en red

Hola:

No, no usamos ads, sino DBFCDX.

Las dbfs son pequeñas, menos de 5.000 registros.

La LAN es cableada a 100 Mbps.

The testing server speed is around 4 Mbps of upload speed and my home internet is 30Mbps of download - more than enough. As you know, I doubt anybody of us designed a serious app without ...

Miralo y dime.

Un Saludo.

... I `m using the version 6.13 modified by you. (A GREAT work!) Manuel, You should check the access point conections, in a normal wireless speed (54 mbps) the performance should be more or less 50 % against a 100 mbps lan. I'm working right now in a remote wireless conection and I'm browsing a 226000 ...

Gilbert, I just tested the speed of the xbrowse refresh with a database of 200,000 records on a very slow (11 Mbps) peer-to-peer network using a very slow Win98 computer as the server, and the time for the refresh is 0.01 seconds. Granted my xbrowse was very simple with two columns, ...

connect a dbf stored in a internet server with samba

... internet server using samba where I store the files (use \\213.21.3.2\files\customer.dbf etc.) but it is quite slow. I have a DSL connection of 2 Mbps and it works fine. I use DBF and NTX, Harbour 1.1 and FW.7.12. Any suggestions of why is it slow?. Any alternative?. Thank you. Best regards,
