Your example is working fine here. I don't get any flickering when changing from one tab to another.

Only flickering when maximizing or restoring it

Maybe it is the display driver (?). Could you test it on another pc ?

... (if they exist). Another option is to open a new copy of the needed database within your routine. Then you don't have to worry about saving and restoring the database's state. But you do need to close the local copy of the database at the end of your routine.

... open a new copy of the database (even if it is a method of the database class) then do your thing, then close it. This way there is no saving and restoring the state needed. If you don't do this, you will likely get some strange errors that may not even be repeatable, and they will be very hard ...
