Re: Interesting discussion with ChtGPT

... Having to specify Data Type is certainly not new. It pre-dates Clipper ( an old, DOS, compiler ) in many languages. Harbour frees us from that restriction Syntax: Swift ( Apple ) uses ? print statements. Harbour, and FWH, are far more sophisticated Libraries: What functionality is NOT covered ...

Re: System info, Tips & Tricks, scharing project info

... For example, if I remember correctly, in WINDOWS 2000 there was a limit of about 20000 files per directory. Today there is practically no restriction. At that time, you had to store the images - in a folder with many images - in the database, but today you can simply save them as files ...

Re: Print-preview with different results ?

Uwe, In no case you can use absolute numbers (nRow += 70, etc.), in position of printrow or printcol!
This restriction is only, if you use pixels as unit!

Re: Using API of Windows 8.1

Kleyber,

Unless you built a Windows 8 real application you won't be able to use those APIs, sorry it is a Windows 8 limitation (quite absurd, I agree).

I don't know of any workaround to bypass this Windows 8 restriction

Fivedbu - Latest download

Hi All, Where can I find the latest download of Fivedbu? I need the import/export function. Also, is there a restriction on the field size of a dbf file? I'm looking for a field size of about 1000 - 1200 characters without using a fpt memo file. I use DBF Viewer 2000, but it ...

Re: Max dimension of a BMP files in a RES file

Samir

Perhaps my failure when I compiled my .res with 32 bit files it was because they were alpha blend ?? The Borland command below is how I compile my .rc to .res

Code: Select all  Expand view

C:\BORLAND\BCC582\BIN\brc32 -r %1.rc

Since all my .bmp are alpha blend .. that may be the 24 bit restriction ?
