Re: Fiveweb

Darrell,

AFAIK, there is no need to install anything on the server except to check that you have MS SQL server properly working and IIS is also enabled and working fine.

You can use ADO to manage MS SQL Server, so many ADO examples from these forums will be of help :-)

Re: Unresolved external symbol '__chkstk (solved)

Frank,

AFAIK there is no comparable replacement for Visual xDebugger

Have you used the FWH built in debugger ? To use it simply use the /b flag to compile your PRGs. In example:

buildh.bat tutor02 /b

What missing features do you find comparing it with Visual xDebugger ? thanks

Re: Unresolved external symbol '__chkstk (solved)

... to switch to Harbour very hard, but there are some drawbacks, like - Using RMDBFCDX for local users, it's very fast, I don't want to miss it - AFAIK there is no comparable replacement for Visual xDebugger - I'm using some function only available in xHarbour, e.g. DbUseArea( [<lNewArea>] ...

I'm using XP. :-( AFAIK the only way to keep software is to do it by steps:  1. upgrade NT 5.* to 6.0: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows-vista/Upgrading-from-Windows-XP-to-Windows-Vista 2. upgrade NT 6.0 to 6.1: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows7/help/upgrading-from-windows-vista-to-windows-7?T1=tab03 ...

Re: ADS NOT SUPPORT DECRYPT AND ENCRYPT FROM FIVEWIN

Kok,

AFAIK ADS provides its own encryption functions, so you should use theirs

I am not used to them, but surely another ADS user may help on this

Re: Metro style

... rt (windows 8). Again, a win32/64 app does not run under WinRt. Windows 8 allows you to "switch" from traditional Win32/64 to WinRT. AFAIK, you can't be on both at the same time. That's how I think it all works, Reinaldo.

Re: Strange behavior of TGet

Enrico,

Afaik, other controls created from the ON INIT clause are fine.

This is the first time that we get this border painting problem, only when a GET is created and themes are in use.

Re: Refresch screen via network

... for the notification (in my case the stored procedure sp_WaitForEvent), otherwise you won't hear it. This would work best with a 2nd thread. But AFAIK, xharbour can't really do threading. If someone has had better luck with multiple threads, please do jump in. Chris Franz describes how to work ...

Re: Linking errors

You can use any linker from ms, but you have to use both (compiler and linker) either from ms or from Borland. PellesC is compatible with ms, afaik. I would continue using borland.

But concerning your first error message, please check if you use (x)harbour for ms in combination with borland ?

Re: Extract data from an open file is it possible?

Hello! I'm not an expert but AFAIK you can use Volume Shadow Service to copy locked files. Then you can try to extract your data ... The utility that uses VSS to copy files is here (it is x64 compatible): http://alt.pluralsight.com/wiki/default.aspx/Craig/HoboCopy.html ...
