How to convert alpha-blended image to grayscale?

I would prefer btnbmp to display a disabled button in grayscale. What options do we have to do this? Is manually converting the image to greyscale the only option? I tried using Irfan View to convert such images to grayscale but it always lose the alpha channel attribute. Uwe, anyway this can be don...

I don't know, if there is something to be worried about ???. I created / repainted all Tables , Tree and Desk to Alpha-blended BMP's to show a Solution, comes close to Your Screenshot. Sometimes I spend much Time, to find a working Solution. There is no Necessity for me, to help somebody ...

I think, add the TEXT as Alpha-Blended BMP to the Button.
The & is used as ACCELLERATOR.

Hello Uwe,

did you every measured the speed differences between alpha blended and simple bmps.
Maybe I am doing something wrong but it seems as a simple bmp is painting much quicker.
What is your experiences?
