... with this solution. I modifyed the search-string : the first char has to be Upper, the rest lower. All incoming chars are lower That means : < United States > works with United but S ( States ) is converted to Lower. You can solve it with : convert to upper, if the char before is a space. ...

Patrick,

Have you tried to place the Borland RES file into the Microsoft compatible DLL ?

If you open the RES files with PellesC, they look exactly the same except that Borland is using Dutch (Belgium) instead of English (United States)

... It is a slightly modified version of Rochinha's example. This returns 39 when the Location is "Canada" and something else when it is not (e.g. United States is 244). ... that if I change the Location field to "Canada," the code sample still returns "Uniited States" and when I look in the registry it still says "United States" for the sCountry value. I searched the entire registry for "Canada" and did not find it anywhere (without other text) except in the country ...

... what you are saying, you are getting back "English (Canada)" instead of "Canada"? Here I am getting what is in the location field (for me that is "United States"). My "Standards and Formats" field shows "English (United States)" in the Control Panel. I am using XP Pro SPII. So, it is working correctly ...

we are getting closer ....

Now it will return "United States" but I have my "location" set to "Canada"
(Win XP Pro)

Any ideas ?
