A WINDOW and a DIALOG are different things from the API point of view. Therefore you can't use a DIALOG exactly as it were a WINDOW.

When I disable some of the menu items in a popup menu, the bitmaps of the respective menu items are completely missing from the view and only the menu text is appearing in gray colour.
