MS Vista & Resource Workshop problem

Postby dutch » Fri Jun 20, 2008 11:26 am

I've a new notebook with Vista business and install BRW 4.5. It shows an error when I run BRW.
Do anyone has this problem? If so, how to fix it.

Dutch,

Is Vista 32 or 64 bits ?
Are you able to run any 16 bits applications on it ?

Vista 64 won't let you run any 16 bits applications.

Dutch,

The error message that you posted suggests that one of the Workshop DLL's might be faulty or corrupted somehow. If you can identify that DLL (I couldn't quite read its name on your error message) then maybe you can replace it.

Dear Roger,

The problem is file C:\WORKSHOP\BIN\WORKLIB2.DLL, I think the problem is my new notebook Sony VAIO. It has a lot of program (OEM) installed and some might conflict with BRW. Because in another notebook in my office works fine.

I knew the problem with new Sony VAIO notebook. The BRW conflict program is FingerPrint. I downgrade to Windows XP, BRW is work fine but after I install FingerPrint (come with VAIO). The error has occured immediately.

Dutch,

Maybe FingerPrint also has a DLL called WORKLIB2.DLL? This could cause the problem.

it could also have registered a window class name that clashes with BRW

Dear James&Antonio,

I recovery Vista (OEM) and install BRW. It has an error and then remove FingerPrint and reinstall BRW again. It works fine.

I don't check the WORKLIB2.DLL that has came with FingerPrint program.
