Peer to Peer connection or NAS for speed

Hello,

I"m converting my 16 bit to 32 bit
All NTX converted to CDX

I use 3 pc's in a peer to peer network for sharing and using a invoice program (Speed is workable)
No server software used
All PC's are installed with Windows7 (because I needed that for FW16)

1 Pc has all the databases, and I call them with : p:\database.dbf P: is a shared location.

Now, I also have a NAS (Synology) witch is also in the network, located as N:

My question : Who has experience with NAS and data communication in a Peer to Peer.

Will I gain speed when I move all data to the NAS, because the NAS is not used for any other task?

The person who needs the program the most has the databases on her pc (best speed). she will lose also much speed if the data is comming from the NAS ?

Thanks

Mark,

there are many factors that would affect the performance: network bandwidth, shitch, etc. But nothing better than try it. I think setting up the environment for test is not very difficult.
Ive never used Synology, only QNap and Buffalo. Things works great in QNap, but no so fuent in Buffalo, both using a 1Gb network interface.

KR,
