We are trying to locate a Windows CE emulator for ARM architecture.

Do you know where to download it from Microsoft ?

Hello!

"Microsoft Device Emulator 3.0 -- Standalone Release"
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/deta ... 6e2c2fb114
is the third publicly released version of the Device Emulator for ARM-based devices.
...
We have also released a separate download for x64 Windows Vista systems. This installer contains a version of SerDMAASPlugin.dll compiled for 64-bit systems.

"Device Emulator Command-Line Reference"
http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa188169.aspx

"Virtual Machine Network Driver for Microsoft Device Emulator"
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/deta ... 4718D3AF65
This download has now been retired. If you would like to get the Virtual Machine Network Driver, please download Virtual PC 2007 ...

The Virtual Machine Network Driver allows the Device emulator's OS (or even the Virtual PC OS, as the case may be) to emulate its own network connection. Because the physical network interface on the host machine is now "virtualized," you have a way to get two IP Addresses - one for the host PC, and one for the operating system that is running within the Device Emulator (or Virtual PC). Device Emulator users using the VMNet Driver can connect to the host machine over TCP or UDP as the alternative to the standard "Activesync over DMA" solution.

DPI: 131 - Resolution: 400 x 240 pixels
DPI: 131 - Resolution: 440 x 240 pixels
Windows Mobile 6.1.4 Professional
DPI: 96 - Resolution: 240 x 400 pixels
DPI: 192 - Resolution 480 x 800 pixels

Antonio,

Te refieres a un emulador de wince 5.0 por ejemplo?

El que tengo dice en MyDevice->Properties->General pone:

Microsoft Windows CE
Version 5.00 (build 1400)

¿Es esto lo que buscas?

Redesigned Architecture • Redesigned unified Kernel. • Support now up to 32'000 processes • 2 GB of Virtual Memory per process • Kernel-mode drivers for performance • User-mode drivers for robustness • Device Emulator now ARM-Code based

There is a half-year free trial available if you have Live ID: http://www.microsoft.com/windowsembedde ... fault.mspx
And here is the latest monthly update: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/deta ... e9f5bd8336

This may be what we are looking for:

http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=FAA8C81D-7316-4461-A0ED-6C95B261DDCD&displaylang=en

"A CPU emulator that executes the ARM instruction set by JIT-compiling to x86"

But we need to build it from VS2005 and here its giving some errors.

I keep trying :-)

Hi Antonio,

Thanks for the posting the emulator! Do you know if it supports network access? How does one enable?

Todd,

You need the Windows CE 6.0 emulator in order to have network support. Also you have to install MS Virtual PC in order to have the right network drivers on your computer.

You may download it from:
