Hola amigos.
Disculpen este OFF TOPIC, pero tengo una gran duda.

Estoy tratando de usar el comando OPTIMIZE TABLE de Mysql, el cual ejecuto desde el menú de oWnd:

Code: Select all  Expand view

oServer:Query("OPTIMIZE TABLE catalogo,comprobd,cheques")
 

Cuando lo ejecuto, hace su trabajo, pero no puedo ejecutar otra opción del programa porque me tira el error:

Commands out of sync; you can't run this command now

Para remediar esto he optado por cerrar conección al server, al finalizar la acción, y luego re-conectar.

Mi pregunta es: Es esta la manera correcta?. Cerrar coneccion y reconectar?
Agradeceré cualquier comentario, u código al respecto.

En San Google encontré que es recomendable abrir otra coneccion para lo expuesto.

El comando Query te devuelve un conjunto de datos, en cambio el comando Execute realiza una accion que no necesariamente debe devolver un valor.

Francisco el problema es que MySQL no tiene la capacidad de tener mas de un SELECT vivo a la vez...
La solución es abrir dos conexiones, pero eso suele ser muy costoso en uso de recursos tanto en el lado del servidor como en el cliente, así que la otra opción es la que yo te recomiendo que es abrir la consulta como READ OMLY...

En HDO sería así:
oStmt:setAttribute( STMT_ATTR_CURSOR_TYPE, CURSOR_TYPE_READ_ONLY )

Por otro lado aprovecho para que te intereses por mi librería HDO (Harbour Data Object)
Hecha en C completamente.
Orientada a objeto (OOP)
Con sentencias preparadas en el lado del servidor. (Hasta ahora ninguna de las existentes lo tienen)
Crea el concepto de RDL (Replaceable Data Link) en la actualidad en producción está RDLMYSQL para MariaDB y MySQL y RDLSQLITE para SQLite y SQLSipher.
Con esto puedes tener un PRG y cambiando el RDL podrás trabajar con una base de datos o otra.
Y la más indicada para aplicaciones críticas en las que se necesite velocidad y robustez.
En mis pruebas es 16 veces más rápidas que otras.
Fácil de usar, solo tiene 3 clases:
* THDO: se encarga de la conexion y de la base de datos
* TStmt: encapsula las sentencias preparadas
* TRowSet: para el mantenimiento de un resultado
Y también viene dos clases adicinales para tratar los arrays de memoria y los hashtables como RowSet.
