But here it is working well. I am able to click on the last item and see the dropdown menu. I have no such problem here

NageswaraRao,

I looked at my code again, and you are right again. I had some old code under the menu item that I forgot to comment out. Now it is working properly.

Mr Antonio

We have been discussing here about the difference in looks and funtionality of menuitems disabled by 'disabled' clause Vs when condition.

I took sometime to relink the programs with old menustyle (FWH 7.10). The differences were exactly the same earlier also, including left shifting of disabled menuitem painting.

We did not pay attention to these nuanaces earlier.

Probably you may be aware of this. Now you may decide what kind of functionality you would like to provide in the final release.

NageswaraRao,

I have seen your 256 colors screenshots, thanks.

IMO it has no sense to use the 2007 look on 256 colors, so once it is implemented as optional, you chould check the amount of colors and if they are 256 then don't use the 2007 clause

Thanks Mr Antonio

That is ok about 256 colors issue, though I still have a nagging feeling that buttonface color vertical bars can be provided for 256 color situations.

I suggest we may treat the issue of differences in 'disabled' Vs when .f. also as closed. The present behaviour is the same as it was in the earlier menu system. In fact there is an improvement now that the disabled prompts are properly aligned. This fix may be applied to non-2007 style also. It may not be that important to achieve identical behaviour in both the cases.

Why cant we accept these differences as the feature of our menu system? As programmers we decide when to enable / disable menuitems or control the accessibility through when clause.

If this is acceptable to other friends also, Mr Antonio can devote his time for other developments treating this issue as closed. This is my personal opinion.

Norberto,

Office style menus are in beta test right now. Unless you are on the beta test team you won't have the libs for the new menus.

I heard from a friend of mine that old style popup menus look as 2007 new style in Vista. Is it true? If yes, what is the point in having 2007 style optional?

If you use the buttonbar with the RIGHT clause and you have a PoPUp menu attached to a button the opener
is undersize.
