ADS licences directly from SAP?

Postby Taavi » Thu Nov 28, 2024 1:32 pm

Hello,

I found this link on google- seems that it is possible to order ADS licences directly from SAP now?

https://www.sap.com/products/technology ... html#plans

Does anyone have experience?

Taavi.

You need to reach out to them directly to see exactly what is being offered.

The LAST version published was in 2015 - 9 years ago - pre Windows 10 and 11

All support was discontinued several years ago. No one even knew about the product at the company.

That price is for 1 user, 1 license based on what is stated. The base unit in the past was for a 5 user license, and then you added on. The price is incredibly high for an "obsolete, non-supported", piece of software

See if you can get answers from the company. I tried for years and they never wanted to response other than to say it was no longer supported and would never be updated.

Very sad, they killed a Great product.

In addition, they made the prices so unaffordable as if they want to make sure nobody will buy and use the product.

ADVANTAGE DATABASE SERVER (ADS) database is great database comparable to any SQL in my opinion. The truth is that for many years it has no longer been available for sale nor does it receive support from the SAP company. I remember that at some point they offered a one-user evaluation version, fully functional, without restriction and completely free.

https://www.kresin.ru/en/letodb.html

LetoDB is a client-server database management system (DBMS), which is a freely available alternative for Advantage Database Server (ADS), a client-server solution, popular among xBase developers.

Quizá LetoDBf es un proyecto más activo que LetoDB.
Realmente no uso ninguno de los dos

Antonio:

When following your link, it shows 32 bit binaries for Borland and Mingw downloads

Is there a 64 bit version ?
Is it compatible with FWH 32 and 64 ?
Are there any examples of implementation in FWH programs ?

I use FWH ( current ), Harbour, and MSVC

Dear Tim,

Full source code is available so it can be built using 64 bits.

I am going to ask Akexander :-)
