Resedit closes problems after Windows 10 update

Noticed this topic in the Spanish forum

Apparently after taking a recent windows update .. Resedit starts and then immediatly closes .. anyone else have this problem and any work arounds ??

Just checking and inspecting what you have described:

If you open the Windows events viewer, there you can see an information error (white) and a severe error (red):

When running it from Visual Studio Community IDE using debug mode we get this:

Without source code and being unable to rebuild ResEdit I think that it is not going to be possible

I suggest you to use PellesC or Visual Studio Community own resources editor, or any other

System type 64-bit operating system, x64-based processor

I am gen'ing up a new laptop with 21h1 build 19043. 1110 with all current updates to see if I get the same result ..

Rick,

If you have Visual Studio Community installed please open resedit.exe from the IDE as a solution (search for the EXE name)

Then on the topbar click on debug (or simply run it) and then check at the bottom right if you get the same calls stack as me
