RecordSet via Web

I have been using an ADODB RecordSet object to connect to my server over the internet. oRs:Open( cUrl ). Actually very fast, works well. What I don't know, or can't figure out is if I can use this on a secure site. Can't seem to get it to work. It works if I use Hamachi (VPN), but not HTTP, or HTTPS on a designated port.
