Media Player - speed

Today I had faced a speed problem updating a dbf-file.
Now I found out that the problem is caused by the simultaneous running of the Media Play on my system.
A task which takes without running MediaPlay 18531 msec takes with running Player 292172 msec-
15 times more.

Sure the song I play is called “Busy Job” ;-).

I tried with WDBU and here the speed is 1 min vs. 2.20 min for updating 50000 records.

Best regards,
Otto

Otto,

The idea is to check if that problem is solved in Windows 7, instead of keep trying in Vista, where there are so many problems specially related with execution speed.

Otto,

Do you have XP? You could test it under XP and see if the speed problem is the same.

Maybe someone with Windows 7 will volunteer to test it for you.

Of course, running a CPU intensive program like a music program is going to affect performance some.
