Lockup with MSVC / Harbor / FWH

This is going to be a difficult problem to resolve.

My primary application has two versions, xHarbour ( .com ), and MSVC. This is a large application, and is very comprehensive. The xHarbour version has no problems running, and never locks up.

The MSVC / Harbour / FWH build works fine when it is first started. However, if I minimize it, and let it set without input, after awhile it will lock up. When I open it again from the task par, it will only show part of the window detail, and it is not responsive to keypresses or the mouse. To close it, it is necessary to Ctrl-Alt-Del.

The behavior was first reported by a client who was testing it, and I then verified the same behavior on my computer.

If anyone has builds of complete applications, please check to see if you have the same behavior. Enter the program, then bring up a dialog and perhaps select some data. Then minimize the window. Go back later ( maybe 30 minutes ) and try using it. Are you successful ?

Feedback is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Tim,

Is your app monitoring a folder contents, or performing any other kind of periodic activity ?
