El sistema se pone lento

Tengo un sistema de liquidacion de sueldos bajo windows 98 sobre un servidor windows server 2000. Funciona todo bien mientras no navegue en internet con el iexplorer. Ejecutando esta aplicación el sistema se vuelve sumamente lento y los browser se ponen terriblemente pesados. Alguien tiene una respuesta para esto. Desde ya les agradezco mucho.

Check to see if you have norton antivirus running. If so, disable it and try again. I had the same experience and after shuting down Norton AntiVirus, it all went back to normal or even better than on a '98 work station.

No tengo instalado Norton antivirus. En realidad ningún antivirus. ¿ Alguna otra idea ? . Muchas gracias por tu respuesta

Are you calling IE with waitRun()? This can use 99% of the CPU.

James: Al navegador no lo ejecuto a través de la aplicación. Lo hago desde el escritorio. Y este síntoma no aparece hasta que navego un rato. Si ejecuto el iexplorer y lo cierro enseguida el sistema funciona bien. Pareciese que el iexplorer no libera los recursos que utiliza porque, aunque lo cierre mi aplicaci'on se pone muy pesada y le cuesta pintar los controles. Desde ya te agradezco infinitamente tu ayuda. Seguire investigando
