Problems when upgrading from 10.06 -> 10.08

Problems when upgrading from 10.06 -> 10.08

Postby PeterHarmes » Tue Sep 07, 2010 9:37 am

Hi,

I'm currently testing version 10.08 and have noticed the following problems

1. Menu widths - The width of the menus now size themselves to the size of the biggest item within the menu - it looks a bit silly if you have a menu that just has exit in it. Also, if we specify a hot key to appear on the right side of the menu by inserting a CHR(9), the tab space from the end of the menu item to the hot key text has been reduced.

2. Transparent text with a dialog that contains a folder - the colour of the background of the text seems to be calculated incorrectly.

3. Using transparent groups - the text for the group doesnt seem to be transparent and all the objects within the group have disapeared!!

Pete,

We have just published a revised FWH 10.8 (it should be available to be downloaded in a few minutes) that reverts the changes that we did in function IsAppThemed() that have been causing many troubles. So everything should be fine again :-)

thanks!
regards, saludos

Thanks Antonio,

Is there any chance that you could put the change to control.prg that you did for me this morning?

Pete

Pete,

When you run the setup FWH.exe file you should see September 7.

Please double check that you are not linking other different libraries (using a wrong path, etc), thanks

Yes it def says Sept 7 on the installer.

I renamed my FWH folder to FWH - 1006
Installed FWH

Recompiled software checking Force clean build & Force Re-Link (i'm using xHarbour commercial btw)

Havent changed my version of xHarbour (there is a later version I can try if you think that could help?)

Any ideas?

Just downgraded my FWH to 10.07 and the menu widths problem is ok (point 1)

But the gradient and group problems exist in 10.07!!

Yes, it shows a blank dialog.

How do you build your menu (such popup) ? We have not modified anything in the menu items painting. This is really strange...

It may be the side effect of another change. We are trying to locate it. If you could provide us a small example it may help, thanks

I'll try to create a self-contained example for you - btw, the dialogs are from a resource file if that help?!?
