ANN: noway 1.0 - New Controls Library

Postby James Bott » Tue Oct 31, 2006 8:03 pm

Fernando,

This is very impressive and exciting! I have a couple of questions.

1) I looked at two of the demos. Some of the bitmaps and all of the buttons are chopped off on the right side and bottom. Is this a design problem with the demo or a bug in the library? [I am running XP Pro with themes].

2) Can we also use 32bit bitmaps for the application icon (the one that displays on the desktop and in Windows Explorer?

Really nice work.

Fernando,

>The problem was not a bug in the library, but an error in the resource size. You can download again the samples, and see how the paint is correct now.

Ah, yes, they all look great now.

>In the example of the screenshot, the glass type buttons are bitmaps, which are transparent in the background.

How did you make these button bitmaps? Using special software to create 32bit bitmap buttons? If so, which one?

Can Workshop handle these 32bit bitmaps? If not, which resource editors can?

As far as I know, you can load 32bit bitmaps in Borland Resource Workshop but you can't open or edit them using it.

Is the library actually finished or a work in progress? How soon till it can also work on Win98? As James has said, it's impresive and with users nowadays tend to judge more on looks whatever tools we have to go into that direction would be helpful

Hi Fernando Sanchez.

This is an excellent work. I need some clarifications.

A) Can I take the focus on to the required buttons with Keyboard !.
( I did not find it in your demos ). I did not find any effect of Tab
Key on these buttons and there is no any shortcut key. In such
case the mouse is not working, it would a problem to handle the
dialog.

B) Can we have the buttons to the sizes required by us.

C) Can we use selected fonts on the controls ?.

Regards
