I made a beta version of the Visual designer form report
When I create a report

I can insert line and box , text, image

but I want ask YOU how I can save all :

I have all with coordinates
EXAMPLE : LINE xx,yy,xx,yy ......( parameters)

the problem : I must set a number for each or ...?
example 010 LINE xx,yy,xx,yy,...
How I can set this number ?

I want an Idea ...

Hi,

I think you need to generate a sequencial number to identify all the report component, and this number would be the order of paint like a components in resources.

I am really struggling with reports. VRD seems to be clumsy and unstable. The files corrupt easily and then I get a blank screen and need to start again.

I see from the posts on this forum you are working on some sort of report writer. Is it publicly available?

Hello Ollie,

don’t be a dreamer. There is no other FW report than EasyReport for production use available.

Are you using ER with FW or FWH. The blank screen is not a problem of ER it is printer.obj from FW changed in FWH.
FW prints all the previews with the same name. So if your report crashes the previewfile is locked and the next preview cannot be created.

VRD the IDE sometimes is not that stable. But I never had a problem during the printing with the applications.
I think you try to print areas not defined in the reports.
But there is also a tool: Fileedit.exe which helps a lot
Have a look in your vrd-files that there are no double used IDs. If you use clean vrd-files all works as suspected.
