Good morning,
I have been doing some testing with Letodb and works quite well, however before I put my program in production, which is not urgent, I would like to ask for your advice. I would like to know if someone is using Letodb, how long has been using it for, the number or concurrent users, the number of records of the databases, the speed obtained, possible errors or malfunctions detected, etc.
My program is a small manufacturing, logistics and invoicing software, which I made 20 years ago in Clipper Summer ’87 and it’s been working every day since then. Nowadays it is in FWH 8.06 and Harbour 1.0.1. The dimensions would be: 8 users (Windows XP) in a local network with Windows 2003 server. About 30 tables DBFCDX, the biggest with 80.000 records and 28 MB.
The reason for using Letodb is to allow other users to connect from outside the office using internet ADSL. These connections would be occasional and mostly viewing rather than adding or editing records. I would rather not to use VNC or Terminal Server.
I have been reading in this forum about other options like SQLWin, AdoRDD and Tmysql.
Any advice about them? I see that the last posts about SQLWin and AdoRDD are some months old. Are the last versions stable and full functional? Is it too complicated for my needs?
Thank you very much for you help. Regards,
Alvaro
