Crystal Reports OEM -> ANSI Problem

Hi,
When I try to use crystal reports and I enter XBASE (.dbf) file converts the fields from OEM to ANSI and I can not change it .This problem has to do with a default value inside the registry . Does anybody knows how to change this? I remember that years ago I have found a solution for this by changing the registry but I can not remember how.
