North America Users

Postby reinaldocrespo » Tue May 31, 2011 4:29 pm

Hi.

I wonder if there are enough North America fw users to organize a summit where we can bring Antonio as well as some vendors such as ADS and make it low cost for everyone to attend. I already have some ideas for a two or three day agenda.

If you or anyone you know in N. America would consider being part of a fw summit, please email me at:

reinaldo dot crespo at gmail

Thank you,

Reinaldo.

Rick;

The whole idea is full of challenges. The first one is finding between 15 and 20 users interested on the summit. If we can get that, then I think we can even get some sponsorship to pay for the cost of putting this thing together with very interesting agenda including Antonio and mobile device development. As for right now, all we need is a head count.

The list as it stands right now:

1. Rick
2. Gale
3. Reinaldo

Can we get this list up to 15 people interested?

Interested, yes, but timing and location would be the issue. Usually to pull this off it takes a lot of people. I used to attend many xbase conferences and they were always fun.

Here is another point. At least in my area, if enough people attend, the hotel will give you a meeting room for free. I used to do training sessions for my clients and when they came here and stayed at the "host" hotel ( usually small but convenient ) we had full use of a conference room. We did 3 day training sessions. Also, you will want to do it when airfares are less expensive ( off tourist season ).

Ok. Good news. We continue to grow. The list now stands at 5:

1. Rick
2. Gale
3. Reinaldo
4. Tim
5. Hag

I think that 15 attendees would give us critical mass and help us gain attention from sponsors. Can we come up with 15?

Reinaldo,

It may be a much better idea to organize a Harbour users meeting, that way we can get much more attendees :-)

You might try posting on the related newsgroups, including Clipper and Harbour / x Harbour. Patrick likes to travel to Las Vegas ... have it there and he would probably come !
