VSX for FiveWin

This is a very early test. This time I need you to download this file and unzip it and run the included EXE and tell me what you get. Thanks

You need to have VSX Integrated mode or isolated mode. Not sure about this last one. We are already waiting for a PLK from Microsoft so maybe it will not load at all :-)

Enrico,

It may be the missing PLK from Microsoft.

Hopefully tonight or tomorrow I may get it from Microsoft.

Enrico,

Please check if you have these values in the registry:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE,
"Software\\Microsoft\\AppEnv\\9.0"
"AppenvStubDLLInstallPath"

Thanks!
regards, saludos

There is no AppEnv key in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft.

How to check it? It should be integrated mode but I'm not sure.

And the solution is? :-)

I really would want to try the resource editor! :-)

Enrico,

The only workable solution by now is to download Visual Studio (90 days trial) ó a free Visual C++/C# Express edition.

You can use them as a resources editor for RES files or for DLLs.

We have not found a way yet to use the redistributable IDE as a resources editor :-(

Antonio

I un-installed the VSX because I could not see the ability to create a C++ application as one of my choices .. I downloaded and installed the Visual Xpress 2008 C++ ( free ) version. I was able to get to the forms editor in the C++ IDE .. I then went back and installed the Redistributable VS 2008 VSX .. unfortunitly, in VS 2008 I could not create a C++ application or get to the forms editor :(

Rick,

We are starting learning about VSX features, so it may take some time until we know for sure what can be done with it.

In VS 2008 simply open a DLL with resources into it and you will be able to use the forms (resources) editor
