Vista 64bit

Vista 64bit

Postby Marc Vanzegbroeck » Tue Apr 22, 2008 7:37 pm

Hi,

A client of mine just bought an new Vista 64bit PC.
He's still using a 16-bit FW-program of mine. He get a error starting the program.
If I migrate that program to Xharbour, will it work, or should I use FWH64.
I can test this installing an other program in FWH of mine on his PC, but he just emailed me and it would be nice that someone knows the answer, so I already answer him.

Thanks,
Marc

Marc,

Vista 64 bits will not run a 16 bits application.

You need to port your application to FWH (32 bits) and Harbour/xHarbour and then it will work fine in 64 bits.

We use to have a Vista 64 here, so we know it for sure: 32 bits applications are ok for Vista 64. 16 bits applications are a no go.
regards, saludos
