Jeff,
The iPad uses a new SDK (iPhone SDK 3.2) which it is a new SDK specifically developed to be compatible with a future software version of the iPhone and the iPad. So we can not use FiveMac there, though many parts of FiveMac could be easily adapted to this new SDK.
Anyhow, due to the nature of the iPad and iPhone applications development, it is more advisable to use Apple's xcode development environment, and you need to learn how to code using Objective-C and the iPad/iPhone GUI.
